Arusha African Film Festival

“Exhibition and Celebration of Africa on film” is one of the subtitles for the Arusha African Film Festival. The programme includes 70 films from 20 African and European countries.

The theme this year is Sociocultural Narratives and Aesthetics of Africa on film.

The film festival, which is now in its second year, grew out of the African film course at Arcadia University’s College of Global Studies, a study abroad pprogrmma in Arusha. It is organised by Hakika Entertainment, a media production and distribution company in Arusha.

There will also be workshops, seminars and poetry readings. Screenings will be at the Mount Meru Hotel, the Alliance Française, the New Arusha Hotel and Via Via cultural centre.
