Backstreet Festival in Alexandria

23-29 September 2012. This dance and theatrical Backstreet Festival takes place under the motto Towards Art in non-traditional Spaces. It offers a space for the dialogue between artists coming from Europe and the Mediterranean regions.

On this occasion artists from Serbia, Croatia, Spain, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, Austria, England, Egypt, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria and Germany gather for street performances, life concerts and workshops.

This festival takes place at Goethe Institut, which hosts two special workshops: on 24 and 25 September the Swedish Phax Ahmada shares his experience within his Street Dance Workshop; from 26 to 29 September Eric Altorfer holds a workshop on writing for theatre, entitled Reality vs. Fiction: The Transformation of the World by Writing a Play, which analyses how certain topics can be presented on stage.
