25 January-7 February 2011. This exhibition shows how our daily waste can be turned into useful products after the idea of Tei Mensah Huagie, a dynamic Ghanaian painter, sculptor and designer, who invented this recycle art project in 2005. The aim of this event is to create functional objects, teach citizens how to keep the streets clean and raise their environmental awareness.

In 2009 Haugie guided 20 young Ghanaian artists in a three-month long workshop, sponsored by the Ghana Cultural Fund, which aimed to create valuable and pleasant items out of ordinary waste. Participants were taught how to wash, disinfect, cut and design plastic waste and turn it into bags, pieces of furniture and sculptures. Their creations will be displayed on this occasion at Goethe Institut.
