14 June 2012. Goethe Institut hosts the screening of the movie Adopted by Gudrun F. Widlok. The emphasis is on the dominant perception that the rich West gives something to the poor South. For once the usual game of excess and lack is reversed: adult Europeans, who are detached from their families, are given godparents in Africa.

This movie is based on real facts: to date more than 150 Europeans have been brought together with families in Ghana. T

he screening is followed by a public discussion.
