Imperial Russian Ballet

4-8 July 2012. The Imperial Russian Ballet Company, directed by the artistic director Gediminas Taranda, performs its rich programme, which includes Carl Orff's Carmina Burana, Walpurgis Night, taken from the opera Faust by Charles Gounod, Adagio from the ballet Scheherezade by Rimsky-Korsakov, the Grand pas de deux from the ballet Don Quixote by Ludwig Minkus and finally the Can-Can Surprise by Jacques Offenbach.

This ballet company was founded in 1994. Its repertoire consists of numerous outstanding full-length classical masterpieces, as well as some modern choreographies.

In 2011 this ballet company travelled to Cape Town, where it staged The Nutcracker, which thrilled the South African public.
