12-20 Oct 2009. This is the first jazz and world music festival to be held in Accra. The programme includes concerts by renowned African musicians such as the South African Babu Group, who play jazz and Indian music, the Ayeeko Drummers and the Balinga Jazz Group from Ghana. There will also be famous international artists such as the Suiss quartet Thico Freeman and the Squeeze Band as well as the French trio Ka-Tam. The festival opens with Silent Soul Food, an exhibition of evocative paintings and sculptures by Nana Anoff and Nii Amansah, who are inspired by music. Both artists have presented their works in several locations around the world and have received critical acclaimed in the past.
