27 May-21 June 2007. 19.00. Photographs by Ahmed Kamel and Tarek Hefny explore different aspects of contemporary life in Egypt. Kamel presents a series of portraits showing the members of a typical middle-class family in the privacy of their home in Cairo. Hefny displays images of the ubiquitous Peugeot 504 taxi cab and its various owners. The exhibition is accompanied by a small catalogue. Born in 1981, Kamel studied at the faculty of fine arts at Helwan University in Cairo and currently works as a graphic designer. Hefny, two years his junior, graduated from the same university and is now a freelance photographer.
