29 March-8 April. This exhibition displays the recent paintings by the Tanzanian artist Nadir Tharani. He likes to portray human necks and shoulders but has also dedicated many canvases to horizons and the origins of the world. Furthermore, being an aware artist Tharani dedicated a series of drawings, entitled Positions of Power, to the victims of arbitrary detention, imprisonment, harassment, beating, torture and rape.
Tharani studied at the London University College and has displayed his works around the UK as well as in Germany, Denmark and in his homeland Tanzania. Besides painting Tharani also illustrates books, creates graphics and posters.
