24 March-31 Dec 2007. Through a selection of acquisitions made by the Iziko Cape Town museums art department in 2005-2006 this exhibition explores the questions of why we collect art for the nation and how, and what purpose it serves. These issues are particularly relevant in the modern South Africa, where art is seen as a way of coming to terms with the past and forging a new national identity in the post-aparthed era. Tues-Sun 10.00-17.00.
