Accra partners with city's orchestra

Accra Symphony Orchestra to collaborate with city under new deal.

The city administration of Accra has partnered with the Accra Symphony Orchestra (ASO) to promote African and Ghanaian musicians and "improve the quality of life" of the capital's residents through music.Under the deal the orchestra becomes the city's cultural ambassador and will represent Accra at international events in the capital.

With the support of the city, the orchestra plans to stage performances in Accra's parks and concert venues as well as holding training programmes for young musicians.

Founded in 2012, ASO is committed to the reinterpretation and preservation of African music in the orchestral style. The orchestra comprises musicians from Ghana, Nigeria and Cameroun.
