The new campus of the American University in Cairo (AUC) in the New Cairo suburb of the

Egyptian capital is due to open in September 2008. Designed by US architects Sasaki and

Associates in conjunction with the Egyptian firm Abdel-Halim Community Development Collaborative, the 260-acre facility has been under construction for five years.

The $400 million campus will host the AUC
