Dont lose hope: this is the word on the streets in Accra following Italys victory over Ghana in their first match in the World Cup tournament in Germany on 12 June. Pre-match optimism quickly turned to apprehension after the Italian side managed to score 40 minutes into the first half; and despite a strong performance Ghanas Black Stars failed to turn the game around, allowing the Azzurri to score a second goal shortly before the final whistle. Now supporters are pinning their hopes on Ghanas next first-round match against the Czech Republic in Cologne on 17 June.
