6, 13 Dec 2012. Goethe Institut hosts two German movies.
The first one, entitled Run if you can, by Dietrich Brüggemann, is screened on 6 Dec. It tells the story of Ben, who is deeply desperate and depressed because he is forced to spend the rest of his life in a wheelchair. One day Ben hires Christian as his new assistant and a dangerous menage a trois starts with Annika, a cello player who lives opposite Ben. Ben finally falls in love with Annika. These new emotions re-awaken the memories of his past and force him to face his worst fears.
The second movie, entitled The Wishing Table, by Ulrich König is screened on 13 Dec. It tells about Max, the youngest of three brothers, who is forced by his father to tend the goats. Max is a very curious boy and would like to discover the world and learn a trade, as his brothers did. After their apprenticeship, the three sons are given some magical gifts by their masters, including a wishing table, a golden ass and a cudgel.
