Homage to Wanjiru Kinyanjui

8-9, 21 June 2012. Goethe Institut pays homage to Wanjiru Kinyanjui, one of Kenya’s veteran film directors.

Kinyanjui studied at the Technical University of Berlin and was awarded for her feature film The Battle of the Sacred Tree and recently for her documentary Woman’s Name, Njoki Ndung’u. Throughout her career she has written and directed over 20 movies, inspired by daily conversations, folktales, social issues, equal rights and poverty.
